It's going to be a blast from the past for the Cambridge RedHawks and their fans on Feb. 3.

The team has announced forward Tanner Bibby and defenceman Joseph Franzin as captains for their alumni game. Both Bibby and Franzin are former Cambridge captains.

RedHawks alumni will hit the ice prior to the current team's game against the London Nationals.

Bibby spent parts of three seasons with the team from 2019 until 2023. He played in 159 games between the regular season and playoffs, scoring 63 goals and adding 85 assists.

His best statistical season came in his final campaign when he potted 36 goals and assisted on 41 others for 77 points in 50 games in 2022-2023. The point total set a single-season franchise record.

Bibby was also a member of the 2022 Cherrey Cup championship team.

Franzin, meanwhile, suited up for 42 regular season games in 2019-2020 and recorded 11 goals and 23 assists. He produced a point-per-game with three goals and four assists in the playoffs.

The remaining alumni for the two teams are being announced in the coming days.

As for the 2023-2024 RedHawks, they return to action on Friday with a road game against the Listowel Cyclones before returning home to host the Caledon Bombers on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Galt Arena Gardens.

Cambridge currently sits sixth in the Midwestern Conference of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League with a 19-15-3 record, two points behind fifth place Ayr.

Puck drop for the alumni game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
