Scorpions hosting largest ever beach volleyball tournament Sunday

More than 400 youth will descend on Emerald Lake Waterpark for livestreamed event

The city's beach volleyball club is going big and going live on YouTube this weekend as they host their first and largest ever tournament of the season.

The Scorpions Volleyball Club will host the largest beach volleyball tournament in the history of the Waterloo Region and Wellington County on Sunday at Emerald Lake Waterpark and Trailer Park, in Puslinch, from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Over 400 youth will attend.

The tournament will feature youth from the Scorpions Development Program at Shade's Mills in Cambridge and their Ayr programs.

Due to the size of the tournament it has been broken down into mini-tournaments by age. Here is the schedule for Sunday at Emerald Lake.

  • Grade 4/5/6 - 9:00am - 11:30am 
  • Grade 7, Grade 8 - 1:00pm - 3:00pm
  • High School - 4:30pm - 6:30pm 


The Scorpions will livestream the morning segment of the tournament on their Youtube Channel.

With a total enrolment of over 600 in the Scorpions beach program it is one of the largest in Ontario.
