Cambridge RedHawks forward Jack Martin is off to the Kitchener Rangers' development camp this weekend.

A pair of players with local ties will hit the ice this weekend in hopes of impressing the Kitchener Rangers brass.

Ryder Roberson and Jack Martin are set to take part in the Rangers development camp from April 26 to 28.

Roberson is fresh off being the team's 15th round selection, 297th overall, in 2024 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection on April 13.

He had an impressive U16 AAA season for the Cambridge Hawks, potting 10 goals and adding 15 assists in 28 games. In three playoff games, the Cambridge native had a goal and an assist.

The Hawks season came to an end when they bowed out of the OHL Cup in the wild card play-in game against the York-Simcoe Express.

Martin, a Waterloo product and free-agent invite, heads into the camp after scoring 18 goals and assisting on 18 others in 41 games for the Cambridge RedHawks. He had an assist in one playoff game as the RedHawks were eliminated in the first round of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League Midwestern Conference playoffs, 4-1, by the Elmira Sugar Kings.

The weekend camp involves fitness testing, four on-ice sessions and a tour of the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Complex.

A total of 45 players will be divided into two teams, playing each other three times and taking part in a practice and on-ice testing.

The on-ice portion of the camp is set for the Activa Sportsplex on the Patrick J. Doherty pad.

All sessions are open and free to the public.
