Drummondville Voltigeurs defeat Shawinigan Cataractes 4-2 behind Lapointe's late goal

SHAWINIGAN, Que. — Jérémy Lapointe scored what proved to be the winner as the Drummondville Voltigeurs defeated the Shawinigan Cataractes 4-2 on Tuesday.

Alexis Morin, with one goal and one assist, Simon Hughes and Mikael Diotte also scored for Drummondville (13-12-0). Jacob Goobie made 29 saves.

Félix Lacerte and Jérémy D'Astous responded for Shawinigan (11-13-0-2). Rémi Delafontaine saved 18-of-21 shots.

Lapointe's goal broke a 2-2 tie 12:19 into the third period after D'Astous knotted the contest for the Cataractes at 10:03 of the frame. Diotte scored an empty-net marker to seal it with 1:29 remaining in the game.
