JUNE 30, 1931 – APRIL 3, 2023

Passed away peacefully at Cambridge Country Manor on April 3rd, 2023.

Loving mother to Joanne Jacobs (Byron), son Scott Bennett (Patricia), grandmother to Brandon (Tabitha) & Travis (Kelsie) Jacobs, Cody & Courtney Bennett and great-grandmother to Brea, Maci & Hunter. Predeceased by her husband Dell R. Bennett and parents Cyrus & Olive Beck.

June was born in Saint Lawrence Newfoundland into a family of 10 other siblings, which included 4 girls and 6 boys.

June met her late husband Dell on the United States Navy base in Argentia, Newfoundland. Shortly after, June, Dell, Scott and Joanne moved throughout the United States until Dell retired and they settled in Toronto Ontario with many of the other Beck family members.

Family was the most important thing to June. She loved all her brothers and sisters, their spouses and her many nieces and nephews. She was most proud of her son and daughter, spending her time between Ontario and Nova Scotia as much as possible.

June had a second name, “Nanny”. She was a devoted “Nanny” and loved her grandchildren tremendously. There was never a birthday or Christmas forgotten for her 4 grandchildren. Becoming a great-grandmother was something she held very close and proud.

June was an avid crafter, participating in flea markets in Cambridge creating floral arrangements and crocheted or knitted pieces. Until the end, she was still crocheting blankets for enjoyment and to gift to others.

June will be forever loved by the Bennett, Jacobs, and Beck families.

Special thanks to Cambridge Country Manors nursing staff, support workers and care givers, thank you so much for taking care of June and treating her like she was your own Mom or “Nanny”.

Visitation will be held at Coutts Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 96 St Andrews St., Cambridge on Tuesday, April 11th from 12 – 1 p.m. with the service beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Parklawn Cemetery, Cambridge.
