DE FATIMA PIQUES, Miranda

Posted

FEBRUARY 4, 1985 – NOVEMBER 6, 2022

It is with broken hearts that we announce Miranda’s passing on Sunday, November 6, 2022 far too soon at the age of 37 years. Miranda is the beloved daughter to Filomena Morgado (Jose Merino) and Jose Piques. Loving sister to Nilton (Nicola) Piques and special aunt to Logan and Evan Piques. Predeceased by and together once again with her Morgado and Piques grandparents. Miranda will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Miranda was wildly independent and free spirited. She had the courage to take the leap and move to Edmonton all on her own. She was excited for the adventure ahead and thrived, having made a beautiful life for herself. She was an incredibly smart and a happy woman, traits that drew others to her. She was loyal, as any of Miranda’s friends and family know. Once a friend, you were a priority in Miranda’s life. She loved to have fun and some of her favourite pass times included skiing, snowboarding and going to concerts any chance she could. Our hearts are heavy and her loss is already felt so deeply to so many.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with the rosary being recited at 8:30 p.m. at Coutts Funeral, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge (519-621-1650. A Funeral Mass will take place the following day on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 185 Elgin Street South, Cambridge.

A very special thank you to all of Miranda’s friends and family for the outpouring of love and support during this dark time. Thank you especially to Mirea Morgado and Lucy Mota for walking every step of the way with us – it means more than we could truly ever express.
