MARCH 24, 1950 – JULY 3, 2023

Bruce passed away peacefully on July 3, 2023 at Innisfree House in Kitchener at the age of 73 following a year-long battle with cancer.

Predeceased by his parents Andrew Gordon and Ina Gordon (nee Bosomworth), Bruce is survived by his loving sister Jane Shorney (Bruce) of Ayr and brother Dick (Mo) of Toronto; nephews Brian Shorney (Allison), Rob Shorney (Rosalie), Tom Shorney (Hilary), Brent Gordon (Laura), and Keith Gordon, and niece Andria Gordon (Matt); and great nephews and nieces Vivian, Gavin, Nicholas, Samuel, Stephen, Rowan and Isaac.

Born and raised in Galt, Ontario, he graduated from Lakehead University in Forestry and worked in Northern Ontario for many years. He then returned to Cambridge where he worked with the Ministry of Natural Resources prior to co-owning a forestry management company. Known for his fantastic memory, he was an avid sports fan with life-long allegiances to the Buffalo Bills, Brooklyn and LA Dodgers, and Boston Bruins.

The family is grateful for the wonderful support Bruce received from his kind Preston neighbours. Also, special thanks to Cambridge Memorial Hospital 2nd floor nursing staff, the Home Care Palliative Nursing Team, and the nurses and support staff at Innisfree House.

Cremation has taken place and Bruce's ashes will be buried in Mount View Cemetery in Cambridge where a service for close family will be held.
