Mary Veronica Hammer passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at the age of 92.
Mary was a member of the St Clements Catholic Church for 60 years. She enjoyed her prayer groups, as well as travelling and being outdoors. Above all, Mary loved to spend time with her family. She was a spiritual, generous, and nurturing person, and she will be deeply missed. Left to mourn are her daughters Roni, Cathy (Brian), Connie, Debbie (Mike), and Sherry, sons John (Cheryl), Edward (Bonnie), Jim, Larry (Malinda), Doug, and Don (Alyson), 17 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many more extended family members and friends.
Mary was predeceased by her loving husband Edward Joseph Hammer and her grandson Gary Murphy. A Visitation will be held at Barthel Funeral Home on Friday, January 28th from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Clement’s Church (745 Duke St, Cambridge) on Saturday, January 29th at 10:00 am. Space is limited at the church as well, so all guests must reserve a spot at church by clicking the sign-up link below. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery (119 Arlington Street, Kitchener). As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Down Syndrome Society would be appreciated.
