HANNA, Adair (nee Kendall)

Passed away at Royal Terrace LTC, Palmerston on Saturday, December 30, 2023. Adair was born on July 30, 1939 to Alyce (nee Johnson) and John Kendall, Guelph, Ontario.

Adair will be sadly missed by; her children – Stephen (Cathy), Deborah (Elio) Turchet and Kendall (Kathy); grandchildren – Jacqueline (Simon) Weresch, Nathan (Blaire) Hanna, Ashley (Brad) Smith, Jessica Turchet (Mike Groves), Michael Turchet, Stephanie Turchet, Andrew Hanna (Erica Doyle) and Zachary Hanna.  Great Grandchildren – Caleb and Madelyn Weresch; Owen, Camryn and Hadley Hanna; Cole and Hayden Smith; Thomas and Rowan Groves. Brother-in-law – Robert (Bob) Hanna. Cousins – Amy Grace, Jane, John K, John A., Suzie and fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her beloved companion of 50 years, Mel Davis (2022).  

Adair has had varied life experiences.  Early years spent with family in Guelph and out at the grandparent’s farm in Eramosa Township playing with the Young Cousins. Fun summer days up at Muldrew Lake with the Kendall/Anderson/Tuthill Cousins.

She attended Victory, Central, GCVI schools and her misbehaving years at Alma College in St. Thomas. 

The work years, after raising her children involved being an ECE at Big L nursery school; Home Builders Association; Red Cross (running blood clinics) and as a PSW.

Adair will be remembered for her many years of volunteer work with Hospice, Meals on Wheels, Multiple Sclerosis Canada; Guelph General Hospital; St. George’s Church, and many others.

During the declining dementia years, Adair was well taken care of by the compassionate and dedicated staff of the Royal Terrace LTC.  The family wishes to thank the amazing Royal Terrace team!

Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held at WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at 11:00am. Reception to follow in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre. Interment following at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL (519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com).

Memorial contributions to Hospice WellingtonSt. George’s Anglican Church, Guelph or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.  

 

A tree will be planted in memory of B. Adair Hanna in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
