MAY 26, 1941 – DECEMBER 28, 2023
Passed away peacefully, at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving wife and best friend of 48 years, Mary Jane (nee Pugh), his lifelong childhood friends Larry and Shirley McDermitt and family, and his honourary children Jalyssa and Ryan Brink, on Thursday December 28th 2023 at the age of 82.
Doug is predeceased by his parents Helen and Frances "Frank" Marshall. He will be forever remembered by his many cherished cousins both in the Herz family, and the Dally family, as well as the the Holliday family. Doug has touched the lives of many friends over the years, who are too many to name, but will miss him deeply.
He was an avid Theatre buff, attending many shows over the years at Drayton Entertainment with Mary Jane. Doug was honourary grandfather of Aleida and Elijah Brink. At Doug's request, cremation has taken place.
The family invites friends and family to share memories with them during an open house reception at Coutts Funeral Home 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge, on Wednesday January 3rd 2024 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Doug made to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital ICU Unit, the Cambridge Food Bank, or the charity of your choice would be gratefully appreciated.
