OCTOBER 29, 1938 – APRIL 14, 2023
It is with great sadness that the family of Cliff Mercer announces his passing on Friday, April 14th, 2023. Dad passed as he lived, with his family by his side.
Cliff was born in Bell Island, Newfoundland in 1938 to Elijah (1995) and Sarah (1994) Mercer and was married to his sweetheart Betty (2019) for 59 years. Loving father to Don (Lindsey), Ron, and Donna (Bob). Poppy to Brandi (Varant), Roni (Melanie), Deandra (Jamie), Laura, Emily, Hovaughn, Henrik and Jaxen. He will also be lovingly remembered by his brother Wince (Lorraine) Mercer.
Dad worked for the city of Cambridge for 30 years. He was a member of the Fergus Lion's Club and Royal Canadian Legion for many years. He enjoyed playing cards, darts, the accordion and Thursday night music where he played his guitar.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Family and friends will be welcomed at the T. Little Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Cambridge on Friday, April 28th from 10:00 to 11:00 am. A Celebration of Cliff's life will begin at 11:00 am.
The family extends a special thank you to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital ICU staff for their care and compassion.
