DECEMBER 22, 1935 – JUNE 29, 2023

Passed away peacefully at Trinity Village Care Centre on Thursday, June 29th, 2023 at the age of 87.

Predeceased by beloved wife Claire Wilson and survived by son Gregory Wilson, daughter Kendra Wilson, grandson Matthew Boyer (Taylor) and cherished great-granddaughters: Rayvn, Winter, Rosalie and Holly.

Dear brother of Sharon (Robin) Houston, and Joan (Brian) Fischer. Cherished cousin and many Wilson relatives in Orangeville Ontario and beloved Uncle of so many nieces, nephews and great-nieces, and great-nephews here and across Ontario.

Ron was the epitome of loyalty and hard work. One of the few who could say they started at their job at 16 years of age sweeping the floors and retiring as the Plant Manager (Kondu/Appleton Electric/EGS Elmira). Any job that needed to be done, if Ron was involved, it would get done right.

He was committed to the young people in the community and coached minor league hockey and baseball for many years in his early twenties and thirties. He and Claire always welcomed family and neighbours to their home on Day St. to skate on their rink every winter and enjoy fireworks during holiday weekends. In their retirement years many memories were created with family and friends on their house cruiser “Watership Down” docked up north in Port Severn.

Ron and Claire were both very committed to their church Cedar Hill United Church (formally St. John’s on the Hill) and were involved in everything from making coffee after service to the maintenance of the property grounds and building.

They had the most amazing marriage and were a team like no other. While we will miss them both so much, we all agree that being together is what Ron and Claire would want most and is for the best with our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Special thanks to the staff working on the Maple Bush wing of Trinity Village Care Centre in Kitchener.

Cremation has taken place as per Ron’s wishes. There will be a casual drop in gathering held at Coutts Funeral Home, Cambridge on Monday, July 17th, 2023 from 2pm-4pm. Interment to take place at a later date.

Fond memories and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada may be shared through the funeral home at www.couttsfuneralhome.com.
