Passed peacefully with family by her side on May 3, 2024 at Lissard House Hospice in Cambridge, Ontario. In her 91st year, Pat leaves behind her three children and four grandchildren – David (Mary Beth Sweet), Christopher and Samuel, Bruce (Sandra) Eric and Joanna, and Mary (Dino Delegianis) and Nicholas.

Predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Louis (Lou) Wright, and parents Beatrice Ingham (Franklin-Hunt) and Roy Gordon Franklin, as well as siblings Stuart, Reena Jamieson, Hazel Stager, Doug, Evelyn Cumming, and Howard. Youngest of the seven children, Pat is our last connection to this generation in our family. She is fondly remembered and loved by her many nieces and nephews and their families.

Pat was born in Galt, Ontario and started her career with Franklin Lumber Company, founded by her father. Her career continued as a legal secretary for Bill Korz Law Firm in Preston for many years.

She lived her values of kindness and appreciation to those around her. Pat could always be counted on to lend an ear and offered practical advice to life’s challenges.

A very important aspect of Pat’s life was her connection to her dogs. She so loved their companionship throughout her lifetime and when she no longer had her own, she was loved by the dogs in her family’s lives and so enjoyed seeing them.

A lover of nature and wildlife, she also enjoyed the time spent at the beloved Wright family cottage, a gathering place for family and friends. This love of nature has been passed down to her children and grandchildren and the cottage built by she and her husband Lou has become a family legacy for gathering together.

In honour of her life, a funeral will be held at Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road in Cambridge on Thursday May 16th, 2024 at 11:00 am, visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.  Private interment will take place at Parklawn Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Operation Smile or the Cambridge Humane Society.
