Cambridge man, 41, faces slew of charges

Police seize $95,000 in drugs after executing search warrant

Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Direct Action Response Team (DART) seized over $95,000 worth of drugs after completing a search warrant in Cambridge.

On May 11, 2023, members of DART and the Emergency Response Team (ERT) completed a search warrant at a residence in the area of Beverly Street and Main Street.

Investigators seized a large amount of drugs, including suspected cocaine (crack and powdered), fentanyl, methamphetamine, oxycodone, and morphine. The approximate value of the seized drugs is over $95,000.

Canadian currency, a handgun, a magazine, ammunition, and stolen property were also seized.

A 41-year-old Cambridge male was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (six counts)
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Possession of property obtained by crime (two counts)
  • Unsafe storage of a firearm
  • Unsafe storage of ammunition
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of ammunition
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possess firearm with an altered serial number
  • Possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order
  • Possession of ammunition contrary to a prohibition order

The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
