Waterloo Regional Police have laid charges in relation to an assault in the Gaslight District in Cambridge.
On Sept. 3 at approximately 10 p.m., police received reports of an altercation in the area of Grand Avenue South and Fraser Street.
Upon arrival, officers located a 49-year-old Kitchener male with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect fled the scene on foot and was arrested a short distance away, police said in a news release.
As a result of the investigation, a 59-year-old Cambridge male was charged with aggravated assault.
The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
