Cambridge man charged with uttering threats at Conestoga Mall

Police arrest and charge a male after responding to an incident at a Waterloo mall.

On January 13, 2024, at approximately 5 p.m., police responded to Conestoga Mall for reports of a male threatening mall employees with a razor blade after being asked to leave the mall.

Officers arrived at the mall and arrested the male.

The three victims reported no physical injuries as a result of the incident.

As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old Cambridge male was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Utter threats to cause bodily harm (three counts)
  • Breach of probation (two counts)
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Fail to comply with release order

The male was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
