Cambridge resident faces numerous charges related to sexual exploitation of a minor

Dufferin OPP have charged a 25-year-old Cambridge resident with sexual assault on a person under the age of 16, uttering threats and distribution of child pornography.

Members of the Dufferin OPP Detachment Major Crime Unit have arrested and charged an individual in relation to a sexual exploitation investigation of a minor.

As a result of the investigation, a 25-year-old resident of Cambridge, was arrested on July 15, 2021 and charged with the following offences:

- Sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age

- Invitation to sexual touching person under 16 years of age

- Sexual interference

- Assault

- Uttering threats

- Distribution of child pornography

- Possession of child pornography, and

- Luring a person under the age of 16 by means of telecommunication

The accused was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on a later date to answer to the charges.

The identity of the accused is being withheld in an effort to protect the identity of the victim.
