Cambridge victim identified in Kitchener homicide

The victim in a shooting in Kitchener on Sunday night has been identified as a 47-year-old Cambridge man.

Waterloo Regional Police are now investigating the shooting of Frederick Pfeiffer as a homicide.

On Dec. 18, 2022, at approximately 9:15 p.m., police responded to a shooting at a residence in the area of Wellington Street North and St. Leger Street and located a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. 

The man was transported to an out-of-region hospital with life-threatening injuries. The man succumbed to those injuries Monday.

Investigators believe this was a targeted incident.

The investigation is ongoing by members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service's Major Crime Unit, General Investigations Unit, and Forensic Identification Unit.
