Cambridge woman among two arrested for August assault in Waterloo

WRPS’s Direct Action Response Team has arrested two suspects in relation to an August 20 assault that occurred in the area of Bridgeport Road East and King Street North in Waterloo.

Police said at approximately 2:45 that morning, police responded to reports of a disturbance at the intersection. 

Upon arrival, officers located a 27-year-old male who was found in and out of consciousness due to an assault. 

The victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Through investigation, police learned that a disturbance between 15-20 people escalated, and unknown suspects assaulted the victim.   

Between November 30 to December 1, investigators arrested a 23-year-old Cambridge female and a 25-year-old Kitchener male.

The two suspects have been charged with assault. The female is set to attend court on January 10, 2024, and the male is set to attend court on January 8, 2024.

Investigators are asking for assistance in identifying a third person in relation to the investigation, pictured below.
