Cambridge teen among three charged in attempted vehicle theft in Milton

Police say a recent vehicle theft attempt in Milton resulted in the arrests of three people, including a teen from Cambridge.

On Nov. 4, a Halton resident was driving home from Toronto when they noticed a vehicle following them.

When they parked in a driveway, the occupants of the other vehicle, who were masked, approached the vehicle but fled when realizing the individual in the vehicle was on the phone.

The individual was on the phone with police at the time.

Police responded and were able to locate the suspect vehicle nearby.

Three people were arrested and police say a search of the vehicle led to finding a Winchester air pistol under the driver's seat.

As a result Vineet Chopra, 20, of Toronto, Gurpreet Singh Sasn, 24, of Scarborough, and Mandeep Singh, 19, of Cambridge have been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, theft of motor vehicle, and disguise with intent.
