Cyclist struck by vehicle in Cambridge collision

WRPS’ Traffic Services Unit is investigating a collision involving a motor vehicle and a cyclist.

On April 14, at approximately 6 p.m., emergency services responded to the intersection of Francis Street and Tait Street in Cambridge for reports of a collision.

Through the initial investigation, police determined that a cyclist failed to stop at a stop sign and was struck by a vehicle travelling on Tait Street.

The cyclist, a 31-year-old male, was transported by Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services to an out-of-region hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, a 58-year-old male, reported no physical injuries.

The investigation is ongoing by the Traffic Services Unit, and charges are pending.
