Driver charged in collision that closed section of Highway 24 on Monday

A collision closed a stretch of Highway 24 between Brantford and Cambridge on Monday.

A 25-year-old has been charged with careless driving after a three vehicle collision closed a stretch of Highway 24 on Monday.

At approximately 8:30 a.m., West Region Ontario Provinicial Police posted a message on its X account that Brant County OPP were on the scene of a collision between Glen Morris Road East and Locke Road. 

One person was transported to hospital with what was thought to be potentially life-threatening injuries. 

Brant County OPP media relations officer Jon Bueckert has since told CambridgeToday the individual sustained serious injuries but is in stable condition.

The road reopened around 6:15 p.m. Monday night and the investigation into the collision is now complete.
