Early morning impaired charge for Cambridge man in Guelph

GUELPH – A Cambridge man faces impaired driving charges following a traffic stop Saturday morning.

Approximately 2:10 a.m. Guelph police observed a vehicle leaving a licensed establishment on Silvercreek Parkway South and making a wide turn into the oncoming lane.

A traffic stop was conducted and the officer noted a strong odour of alcohol on the driver’s breath. After failing a roadside test he was arrested and transported to the police station, where he repeatedly refused to provide a breath sample.

A 36-year-old man is charged with impaired driving and refusing to provide a breath sample.
