Head-on crash near Cambridge sends three to hospital

A head-on collision on Cedar Creek Road near Edworthy Side Road, on the outskirts of Cambridge, last evening has sent three people to hospital, one with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The accident, involving a Toyota and BMW, happened just after 7 p.m. near the intersection in North Dumfries Township.

The driver of the Toyota, a 39-year-old man from Kitchener, was transported by Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services to an out-of-region hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the BMW, a 27-year-old woman, and a 31-year-old woman in the passenger seat, both from Cambridge, were transported by Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Cedar Creek Road was closed between Edworthy Side Road and Grand Ridge Drive for several hours for the police investigation.

The investigation is ongoing, and charges are anticipated.
