Investigation launched after individuals targeted by driver: Police

Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate after a report of a disturbance at a residence in Cambridge.

On July 10, 2021 at approximately 9:10 p.m., police responded to a housing complex in the area of Southwood Drive and St. Andrew Street.

Through the initial investigation, police learned that two individuals were almost intentionally struck by the driver of a silver Acura TSX. There were no physical injuries reported.

Responding officers located the vehicle in the area and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle fled the area at a high rate of speed, and the pursuit was discontinued in the interest of public safety.

The investigation is ongoing.
