Local teen facing assault charge following August disturbance

Waterloo Regional Police have charged a youth after a physical altercation occurred in Cambridge.

On Aug.  22, 2022, at approximately 11:15 p.m., police responded to a report of a disturbance in the area of Southwood Drive and St. Andrews Street. 

The victim, a 27-year-old Cambridge female, sustained serious, non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital by Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services. 

On Sept. 3, 2022, as a result of the ongoing investigation by WRPS’ General Investigations Unit, police arrested a 16-year-old Cambridge youth. The youth was charged with aggravated assault.

The accused was released on an undertaking.
