Police are investigating after responding to a disturbance at a bar in Cambridge in the early morning hours Sunday in which a man was seriously injured.
At around 2:05 a.m., Waterloo Regional Police say they responded to a licenced establishment in the area of Hespeler Road and Langs Drive.
Upon arrival, police located a victim who had sustained physical injuries, police said in a news release.
The victim, a 34-year-old male, was transported to hospital by paramedics. It was later determined the victim's injuries were serious, police said.
Through the initial investigation, police learned a large fight took place involving 20 to 25 people within the establishment.
It's believed that the victim was assaulted with a weapon during the altercation, according to police.
