Man suffers serious stab wound at Cambridge grocery store

Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a male in connection to a stabbing incident in Cambridge. 

On Dec. 11, 2022, at approximately 8:45 p.m., police responded to reports of an assault at a store in the area of Franklin Boulevard and Can-Amera Parkway. 

Upon arrival, emergency services located a male with injuries from a stab wound. 

The victim, a 21-year-old Cambridge male, was transported by Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services to an out-of-region hospital with serious injuries. 

As a result of the investigation, police arrested a male on scene. 

A 42-year-old Cambridge male has been charged with the following offences: 

  • Aggravated assault 
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Carry a concealed weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing. 

The investigation is ongoing.
