Motorcyclist, 59, seriously injured in crash south of Cambridge

Collision took place in North Dumfries Township near Cheese Factory Road and Maple Manor Road

Police say a crash this weekend just south of Cambridge sent a motorcyclist to hospital with serious injuries.

Waterloo Regional Police Service's Traffic Service Unit is investigating the collision, which took place in North Dumfries Township on Sept. 2 at around 4:30 p.m.

That's when emergency services responded to a collision involving a sedan and a motorcycle at the intersection of Cheese Factory Road and Maple Manor Road. 

The driver of the motorcycle, a 59-year-old male, was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained serious injuries. He was transported by Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services to an out-of-region hospital, police said in a news release.

There were no other reported physical injuries, police said.

The intersection was closed for several hours for the police investigation. 

The investigation remains ongoing by WRPS’ Traffic Services Unit.
