One arrested for attempted murder after stabbing

A 32-year-old Kitchener man is facing several charges, including attempted murder, after a stabbing in Cambridge.

Regional police were called to the Linden Drive area late Sunday afternoon, where they located a 37-year-old Cambridge woman suffering from several injuries, including stab wounds.

She was sent to hospital with serious injuries.

The man left the scene, but was later found and arrested.

Charges include attempted murder, aggravated sexual assault, uttering threats and overcoming resistance by choking.

Police say the two know each other, and there's no threat to public safety.
