Police believe attempted break-in on Lena Cres. linked to others

Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate an attempt break and enter in Cambridge.

On September 21, 2023, at approximately 3:30 p.m., an unknown male attended a residence in the area Lena Crescent and Conestoga Boulevard.

An unknown male knocked on the residence door and provided a false explanation as to why he was there when the homeowner answered.

The male left the area in a white Ford Expedition with dark-tinted windows.

There were no physical injuries reported as a result of this incident.

The male suspect was described as a Black male wearing a medical mask. The male was also wearing a blue wind breaker with grey lining on sides of waist, blue jeans, grey hoody and dark baseball hat.

The male suspect is believed to be part of a group that targets unoccupied homes throughout southern Ontario.

The investigations are ongoing by WRPS Break, Enter and Vehicle Theft Team.

Waterloo Regional Police are encouraging members of the public to keep all residential doors locked, even when home, and to report any suspicious activity or individuals to police immediately.
