Police charge commercial driver with multiple offences in Cambridge

On January 2, 2023, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service's Traffic Unit were conducting a R.I.D.E. program in the area of Hespeler Road and Langs Drive in Cambridge. 

During the R.I.D.E. program, police stopped a commercial motor vehicle. 

Through investigation, police determined that several alleged offences were committed. 

As a result, the driver was charged with six offences, including driving with unauthorized licence plates, failing to surrender C.V.O.R. registration, ownership, and insurance. 

Commercial motor vehicle operators are reminded of the importance of completing mandatory daily inspections, being properly licenced and insured, and having all documentation correct and up to date. 

As a member of the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance, the WRPS Traffic Services Unit is committed to increasing the safety of Waterloo Region roadways for all users through education and enforcement.
