Police investigate single-vehicle crash in Cambridge

Driver, 24, taken to hospital with serious injuries after crashing into hydro pole

A 24-year-old Cambridge man was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries after crashing into a hydro pole, according the the Waterloo Regional Police Service's Traffic Unit.

At about 9:40 a.m. Tuesday emergency services responded to reports of a collision on Queen Street West, near Schofield Street in Cambridge, said a news release. 

Through the initial investigation, police determined that a Nissan, travelling west, left the roadway and collided with the pole. Queen Street West was closed to traffic for several hours. 

The investigation is ongoing, and charges are pending, police said.
