Police make arrest following break-in to Cambridge business

Police arrested and charged a 35-year-old man following an attempted break-in to a business in the north end of the city early Monday.

Officers from Waterloo Regional Police Service's south division were called to the business Dec. 5 around 2 a.m. after receiving a report of a break-and-enter in progress in the area of Beaverdale and Hespeler roads.

Police responded to the area and arrested the man.

He has been charged with attempted theft under $5,000, mischief under $5,000, possession of break-in instruments and failure to comply with a judicial release.

The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
