Police say a man was assaulted by a group in Forbes Park

Police want to hear from anyone with information about the Wednesday evening incident

Police say a 39-year-old man sustained non-life-threating injuries after he was assaulted by a "group of individuals" in Forbes Park on Wednesday night.

Waterloo regional police want to hear from any witnesses to the assault, which occurred Sept. 20 around 9:20 p.m..

That was when officers responded to a report of a group of individuals assaulting a man near the park entrance in the area of Tannery Street and Adam Street.

A verbal altercation had taken place between the victim and the group of individuals prior to the assault.

The investigation is ongoing.
