Police seize $20K worth of suspected drugs from Cambridge residence

Police say thousands of dollar worth of stolen tools, property were seized

On June 4, 2021, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service's break, enter and vehicle theft team conducted a search warrant at a Cambridge residence and seized thousands of dollars in stolen tools and property.

The warrant was a result of a month-long investigation into a series of construction sites and commercial break and enters near Cambridge.

As a result of the warrant, police also seized suspected fentanyl, and suspected methamphetamine, with a street value of $20,000, as well as various weapons including a sawed-off shotgun.

As a result of the investigation, police arrested and charged a 33-year-old Cambridge male with the following offences:

  • Break and enter
  • Break and enter with intent
  • Possession of stolen property under $5,000
  • Possession of stolen property over $5,000
  • Operate motor vehicle while prohibited 
  • Two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking
