Teen charged after shooting airsoft gun in Cambridge store

Police have charged a youth after receiving a report of an airsoft gun being discharged in a Cambridge store.

On Dec. 2, at approximately 9:45 p.m., police responded to a report of four youths shooting employees and customers with an airsoft gun at a store in the area of Cedar Street and Osborne Street.

Through investigation, it was determined that one of the youths was in possession of a gel blaster gun and had struck employees and customers with projectiles fired from the device.

Gel blaster guns can resemble real firearms but only shoot gel beads with compressed air.

As a result of the investigation, a Cambridge youth was charged with assault with a weapon and possession of weapon for dangerous purpose.

There were no physical injuries reported as a result of this incident.
