Traffic stop leads to drug charges for Cambridge residents

A 46-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman from Cambridge have been charged after a traffic stop in Kitchener on Thursday night

Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Direct Action Response Team (DART) seize suspected drugs as a result of a traffic stop in Kitchener.

On Dec. 29, 2022, at approximately 10 p.m., officers on proactive patrol conducted a traffic stop on Victoria Street North.

Officers determined that the driver of the motor vehicle was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

Through the investigation, suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine were seized, worth an estimated $14,000.

A 46-year-old male (driver) and 23-year-old female (passenger), both from Cambridge, were arrested and charged with:

  • possession for the purpose of trafficking (three counts)

Both individuals were held for a bail hearing.
