Waterloo regional police have made an arrest in connection to a robbery at a bank in Cambridge, according to a news release.
On June 16 at approximately 3:45 p.m., police responded to reports of a robbery in the area of Queen Street West and Guelph Avenue. A male suspect entered the bank, brandished a firearm, and stole an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing on foot, the release added.
On Thursday investigators completed a search warrant at a residence in Cambridge and arrested two. As a result of the investigation, a 42-year-old male and a 48-year-old female, both from Cambridge, were charged with the following:
- Robbery with a firearm
- Possession of stolen property under $5,000
- Conspiracy to commit
The male was also arrested and charged with:
- Point firearm
- Utter threats
- Disguise with intent
- Possession of firearm contrary to order
- Breach of probation (two counts)
The female was also arrested and charged with:
- Possession of suspected fentanyl
- Possession of suspected cocaine
Both parties were held for a bail hearing.
