'Unwanted' male on Holiday Inn Drive now facing drug charges

Waterloo Regional Police say they seized a large quantity of drugs during an arrest on the weekend.

On Saturday at approximately 4 p.m., police responded to a restaurant on Holiday Inn Drive in Cambridge for reports of an unwanted male.

Upon arrival, police located the male inside the restaurant. The male was requested to leave but failed to do so. After several requests, the male was arrested under the Trespass to Property Act. As a result of the investigation, police reported that they located a prohibited knife along with a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine and suspected fentanyl, valued at $13,500.

A 36-year-old Waterloo male has been charged with several offences including Possession for the Purpose Schedule I (fentanyl), possession for the purpose schedule I (crystal methamphetamine), unauthorized possession of a weapon, breach probation, fail to leave premises when directed.
