Victim threatened with knife during robbery: police

Police arrest two males after person-on-person robbery in Waterloo.

On Feb. 12, 2024, at approximately 1:25 a.m., police responded to reports of a disturbance in the area of University Avenue West and King Street North.

Through investigation, it was determined that the victim was approached by two suspects while sitting in their vehicle. The suspects demanded personal property from the victim and a physical altercation ensued. One of the suspects brandished a knife during the altercation and both suspects then fled the area.

Officers arrived in the area and arrested both suspects.

The victim, a 43-year-old male reported no physical injuries as a result of the incident.

As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old Brampton male and a 23-year-old Cambridge male were charged with:

  • Robbery
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

The Brampton male was also charged with:

  • Disguise with intent
  • Fail to comply with release order

Both accused parties were held in police custody for a bail hearing.
