Waterloo Regional Police to welcome 11 new officers Friday

Recruit Class No. 114 will hold a badging ceremony at The Wellesley Recreation Complex on April 19.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) will welcom members from Recruit Class No. 114 to its ranks at a badging ceremony at The Wellesley Recreation Complex in Wellesley Township on April 19.

Ten new Constables have completed their basic training at the Ontario Police College and will be officially sworn in during Friday's ceremony which will be broadcast on Facebook, X and the service's YouTube channel. 

Also receiving their WRPS badge is an experienced officer who brings a wealth of knowledge to the service, says a press release. 

Before joining WRPS, the new members studied and worked in a variety of fields.

The ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. and include members of the Police Services Board, WRPS Senior Administration, the Ontario Court of Justice, volunteers, family and friends.
