Cambridge NDP candidate Lorne Bruce issued the following statement in response to events that unfolded on Sunday during a visit by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau:
I, Lorne Bruce, NDP candidate for Cambridge, categorically denounce the events surrounding a recent campaign function here in Cambridge. I have the utmost respect for anyone stepping up to run and serve their community.
No person should be the target of threats, racist and or misogynist comments. We condemn all forms of hate.
I stand with all Canadians who believe in and support our cherished democratic traditions.
