The following letter to Cambridge city council from Barry Kopysh has been forwarded to CambridgeToday.

Dear Cambridge City Council:

Disgusting!

That is the only word that came to mind as I drove north on Fountain Street toward Dickie Settlement Road and the behemoth that is to be the new Amazon fulfillment warehouse.

Did you know what you were doing when you approved the construction of that monstrosity? The only explanation that comes to mind is that you had absolutely no concept of the enormity of the concrete monolith that was to be erected. It blocks the sun!

And did you even consider the impact on the property values of the residents of Blair? Particularly those on Highgrove Court and Old Mill Road. I can only imagine those constituents would love to escape what will become a steady stream of transport trucks and delivery vehicles. However, plummeting property values and a now much less desirable location will likely make any property sale a very difficult and expensive proposition.

These residents should be compensated handsomely by the city and Amazon for the very undesirable situation they now find themselves in.
