The outstanding accomplishments of the local business community took centre stage last night at the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce’s annual Business Excellence Awards.

The awards were presented in front of a sold-out crowd of more than 350 business leaders and Cambridge/Township of North Dumfries officials at Tapestry Hall on Thursday, May 18.

“These awards are a great way to ensure our business community receives the recognition they deserve for making our community a prosperous place to live and do business,” said Cambridge Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Greg Durocher.

An adjudicating committee consisting of Chamber Members reviewed nearly 70 nominations to select the recipients in nine categories. As well, the recipient of the prestigious Chair’s Award was chosen from among those nominees and the Community Impact Award was presented to an individual who has contributed, or continues to contribute, to the overall prosperity, economic growth, or vibrancy of our community.

The Business Excellence Awards – hosted this year by local broadcaster Mike Farwell - is the Chamber’s premier event and has honoured the contributions and achievements of local business leaders since 2000.

“It’s always a great night to not only hand out awards but gives people the chance to connect and reconnect with other business leaders,” says Durocher.

The recipients were selected to recognize the achievements of organizations and entrepreneurs in Cambridge and Township of North Dumfries who have made outstanding contributions in the past year.
