A 34-year-old Cambridge man is facing several counts of possessing and distributing child pornography after officers with the Waterloo Regional Police Service's Cybercrime - Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit completed a search warrant on a home in the area of St. Andrews and Cedar streets earlier today.

The ICE unit's investigation began in January after it received information from the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre regarding an individual distributing child pornography through various applications.

On April 20, investigators completed a search warrant and made their arrest, charging the man with two counts of possession and two counts of distribution of child porn.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on May 24.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service is a member of the Ontario Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet.
