The Cambridge RedHawks head to Caledon on Friday to open their season against the Bombers.

With the start of the regular season just days away, the Cambridge RedHawks are busy rounding out their roster.

One of their most recent additions is no stranger to flying around the Galt Arena Gardens as former Cambridge minor hockey product Reid Gammage has signed with the team.

Gammage, a 16-year-old forward, becomes the most recent local addition to the club after the RedHawks signed 15-year-old defenceman Jack D'Arcy, 16-year-old forward Lukas Marik and 19-year-old forward Evan Silveira last month.

During his U16 season with the Cambridge Hawks in 2022-2023, Gammage scored 14 goals and added 17 assists for 31 points in 32 games. He also suited up in one game for the RedHawks.

His strong season caught the attention of the London Knights as they selected him with the 258th overall pick in the 13th round of this past year's Ontario Hockey League draft.

The RedHawks closed out their exhibition schedule on Sunday with a 3-2 win in Chatham against the Maroons.

It all gets underway for real when they open the regular season schedule on Friday, Sept. 15 in Caledon.

The following night, they return to Cambridge for their home opener against the Kitchener-Waterloo Siskins.
