CMH declares end to COVID outbreak on inpatient unit

No new cases were reported after two patients were infected and the outbreak was declared March 20

Cambridge Memorial Hospital, in consultation with the Region of Waterloo Public Health, has declared an end to the COVID-19 outbreak in the Medicine B unit (Wing C, Level 4).

This outbreak was declared on March 20, 2023 and there has not been a new case of COVID-19 in that unit for the past seven (7) days.

In total, two patients and no staff were identified as having healthcare acquired infections while in hospital.

All visitor restrictions have been lifted. The hospital administration thanks staff in the Med B Unit, Environmental Services, Health Safety & Wellness and Infection Prevention and Control for all their efforts to contain the virus and their commitment to safety throughout the outbreak.
