Front lawns and driveways better be prepared to rock, because the Galt Porchfest is gearing up for a comeback.

On August 27, Galt Porchfest will be returning to the city and bringing live music to your doorstep.

With 16 confirmed performers, this front lawn festival is accepting all types of acts, from musical, comedic and spoken word poetry.

Galt Porchfest is described by organizers as a community music festival where locals perform on their front porches for their neighbours.

The event is made for community members to walk the streets of their neighbourhood and connect with those living around them.

Priyanka Khimasia is one of the organizers and recently moved to Cambridge during the pandemic. During the lock down, there was no live music happening; Khimasia wanted to change this.

After attending a similar event in Buffalo, New York in 2018, she got the idea to bring music to homes instead of venues.

The first Porchfest took place last year with a total of 13 performances and huge crowds moving from house to house to listen to local talent.

This year's event is being sponsored by E-Bolt Music and The Great Canadian Sox Shop. E-Bolt Music is a local music school and promoter, teaching music in downtown Cambridge.

Galt Porchfest is still accepting applications for performers and interested acts are asked to contact organizers directly and visit their website for more information.
