'Messy wintry mix' of weather expected today: Environment Canada

  • Mount Forest - Arthur - Northern Wellington County

 

A messy mix of wintry precipitation as well as strong winds expected Monday into Monday night.

Precipitation will likely begin as a period of snow or ice pellets Monday afternoon before transitioning to a period of light freezing rain or freezing drizzle Monday night. A few millimetres of ice accretion is possible in some areas by Tuesday morning.

Untreated surfaces may become icy and slippery. The Monday evening commute may be impacted.

In addition to the wintry precipitation, strong winds gusting up to 70 km/h are also forecast to develop Monday into Monday night. Local power outages may occur.
